Friends,
Today I want to share an important new chapter and a new direction for conservatives who reside in Cecil County. On January 29, 2014, I decided to DO something by officially entering the race for the Maryland House of Delegates, District 35A.
I know that Cecil Whig readers care about the future of our great county.
My greatest priorities are:
Reversing the financial burdens imposed by incumbent lawmakers in the form of taxes, fees, fines, compliance, tolls, speed cameras and mandatory insurances that are crippling Cecil County families and stifling job creation at a far greater rate than in our neighboring counties to the west. Instead of rubber stamping bloated budgets I will work and vote against unsustainable and reckless spending.
Restoring our recently infringed Second Amendment rights, by allowing established gun control laws at the federal level to suffice. Currently, our state law enforcement resources are being squandered on law abiding citizens. Let’s refocus these efforts where they belong – patrolling our communities, schools, and streets, and focusing on dangerous criminals. Our government shall trust its citizens to defend themselves. If they don’t, we can’t be expected to trust them.
Addressing our rampant illegal drug problem by tirelessly seeking out resources at the state level to better support our law enforcement, social services, libraries, schools, and community volunteer organizations. As an active volunteer and parent, I know firsthand how important these mentors are in steering youth away from poor life choices.
Annapolis needs to be held accountable for all of Maryland, not just liberal voting areas.
